I admit, this is the first time I have ever used an oven bag. I’m a throw the chicken in the crockpot type of girl. But I had to try this… especially since we had one last bottle of McClard’s Bar-B-Q sauce left in the pantry from our trip to Hot Springs last May. The chicken turned out very moist and was exceptionally delicious served with more barbecue sauce on the side.
1 large Reynolds oven cooking bag
1/4 c. flour
1 to 1 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
salt & pepper
3 1/2 lbs. whole chicken
Put flour in the oven bag and shake. Add the barbecue sauce, onion, & green pepper. Shake to mix the ingredients. Add the whole chicken, tie the bag shut, and shake to coat the chicken with barbecue mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
